CHROMA CIRCUIT

Chroma Circuit is an ambitious multiplayer racing game
where players can strategically paint the racetrack to boost their vehicle.
I was recruited to assist with the visual identity of the game, and solve
complex technical art challenges.

My primary roles on the team were as consultant and technical artist, offering my knowledge to develop the best strategic roadmap for the implementation of innovative core gameplay systems. This included physics, customizable vehicles and visual effects, as well as revealing, painting and deforming the landscape.
I developed the following content during the early stages of production:
• UI Implementation
• Point cloud data import and optimization in Niagara particle systems
• Customizable Vehicle PFX design and production
• Optimized landscape painting using scalable render targets
• Landscape reveal through distance fields
• “Drifting” particles using decals and Gbuffer data
• Road guard rails proximity deformation using vertex WPO
• Modular track generation using spline meshes
• Increase in speed perception using custom FOV shader through panini projection
