Can a compelling world be built out of anything? I believe so. Even vampires in space. I challenged myself to imagine an action-adventure horror game following these restrictions, ensuring every mechanic and aesthetic choice reinforced the core narrative logic.
Overview
Shadow of the Sun is set as a sci-fi gothic odyssey on a tidally locked world where light is a deadly danger. Players lead a rogue paramilitary unit into the "Daylight" scorching side of the planet to recover a scientist who has purportedly weaponized solar energy.
The project twists traditional genre tropes by replacing classic vampire orientalism with techno-organic aesthetics.
